Yes, you can, although not all QuickBooks® consultants provide this support.
If your version is 2007 or newer, we can convert your Mac files to Windows® files
and then back to Mac after they have been updated.
Q. I have been using another method or program for my accounting but want to convert to QuickBooks®. How big a job is that?
That depends on several factors, especially whether you need your previous transactions entered into
the new program. It takes time to enter or upload historical data. The less history you need carried forward, the
smaller the conversion job. You can request a free estimate for converting your accounting to
QuickBooks on my Contact page.
Q. I have been using QuickBooks® for some time, but I am not happy with how some things are set up. Can this be fixed?
There is always a fix, but I'll help you decide whether it's worth your time and money. Some initial set up selections
cannot be revised without creating a new company file. That solution is on the extreme end of available fixes.
At the easy end, there may be changes that can be made to your current company file that will support the
reporting you need.
Q. QuickBooks® was created to be a do-it-yourself program for business owners. Can't I do all this myself?
Most business owners or their bookkeeping staff can install QuickBooks® and
process routine transactions. However, the utility, accuracy, and availability of critical financial management
information will depend on how the program is set up and used. Optimum results are dependent upon accounting
knowledge, time invested, and familiarity with the program features.
Q. How can you provide these services without coming to my office?
Remote support can be provided several ways depending on the version of QuickBooks®
you are using. Options include direct access to your company file over the internet, exchange of company files
by internet or mail, and even emailed adjusting entries you can enter yourself.
Q. How can a small business afford QuickBooks® consulting services?
Getting timely, accurate, and focused financial results is vital to the success of your business.
One solution is to hire clerical support to record
routine transactions (sales, invoices, accounts payable, customer payments) and to contract for the more
technical activities (program setup and configuration, accruals, payroll/payroll taxes, report design).
It's true that consulting can be costly; however, spending valuable time on accounting
instead of growing your business can be even more costly.
